About Me

wet and dry problems on the property

My yard has some areas that are extremely wet and other areas that I have a hard time keeping watered for healthy grass. I started researching to find out what I could do to balance out the moisture on my property and found out about some of the landscaping techniques that can be used in such an instance. This blog was created to help other landowners find solutions to the wet or dry problems that they are having with their property. It is my hope that the solutions that my landscaper shared with me can help others improve the quality of their properties.

Landscaping Options For Your Uneven Lawn

If you have an oddly shaped lawn that you are having trouble landscaping on your own, it may be up to a professional to provide you with a solid plan. Whether your yard slopes and you want a flat garden area or you simply want a set of stairs going from one area to another, it can be difficult to design the area without some help. A landscaping company can help bring your ideas to reality, allowing you to have the yard of your dreams. From walking paths to raised flower beds, your yard can look beautiful with a professional landscaper's help.

When Your Yard Is Uneven

When you have a bumpy, uneven yard, there are a number of solutions for your landscape depending on what you want to use the space for. If you want to grow plants, you can create flat spaces using retaining walls. This is an excellent option for yards that have a steep slope to them as well. Retaining walls are created using a number of materials, and your landscaper can show you the various choices. Whether you decide to use wooden railroad ties or concrete bricks, you can have a beautiful wall built so that you have a nice flat area to plant a flower bed.

When You Want to Connect Two Spaces

If your yard doesn't feel like it has much of a flow to it, you can tie areas of your yard together using pathways and fencing. An iron gateway can make a big difference in the right spot, while a nicely lit walking path made of stepping stones can add flair to your backyard. Look at your overall yard design, and look for ways to connect the areas of your yard to one another. You can even make a simple path with mulch or pebbles to give your yard a pulled together look.

When You Want to Build a Rock Garden

When you have a spot you just don't know what to do with, a rock garden can be a nice feature. If the area already has quite a few rocks in it, all you will need to do is move a few around and consider what types of plants to put inside. A rock garden can make a boring area look beautiful, and part of the rock garden's charm is that most of them are uneven.

When you have an uneven lawn, there are plenty of landscaping ideas for you to consider. For more information, contact local professionals like Urban Paradise Landscaping.
